About

"I grew up in the woods of New Hampshire. I spent most of my time drawing and interacting with nature, or viewing it through large picture windows from inside the house that my father built. I identify with flora and fauna and see my inner life reflected in individual specimens and explore existential quandaries, human experience, and nature’s design through this lens."

Alexandra Blom fell in love with the process of printmaking as a freelance designer producing gig posters in the Chicago music scene and has since shown her work in the Chicago area at the Pitchfork Music Festival, Chicago Printmakers Collaborative, WomanMade Gallery, NEIU Fine Arts Center Gallery, and at Second State Press in Philadelphia. She served the Chicago Printers Guild for over five years as president of the board and continues a 20-year practice primarily in serigraphy (screenprinting) and relief that includes commission and exhibition work, teaching and community activation.
